An Investigation of Place:
And the Displaced

This dissertation follows on from the design research undertaken as part of the In-Transit studio at AHO, Oslo and specifically my direct experience volunteering at the refugee camps of “The Jungle” and “La Limiere” near Grand Synthe in the winter of 2016.

The research analyses and composes an understanding of ‘place’, and by using a phenomenological methodology, extrapolates this understanding onto the direct experiences lived during the time at the camps.
